30^th April – A meeting was held in the offices of Homes & Hills where it was agreed to form the Braintree & Bocking Bowling Club.

The club was formed by a group of local business men led by George Hunnable.

6^th November – The club held their first Annual Dinner at the Horn Hotel (now Costa Coffee), where George Hunnable was thanked for giving a new green to the club on his New Town Estate.

March – The club opened their 5-rink green.

August – Clubhouse opened.

7^th February – Club affiliated to English Bowling Association.

Approval that the Horn Hotel become the Club’s HQ.

11^th April – George Hunnable offered another piece of land to the Club.

5^th May – Club applied for a bar licence.

26^th July – New Pavilion opened.

Harry Tribble made the Finals of the County Singles Championship for which the Club presented him with a set of 4 bowls.
